How Internet Marketers Can Make Their Blogs Better

If you’ve been marketing online for a while, you probably realize that blogging is an essential aspect of making money. There are just many more ways to run a profitable online business if you have a blog. Of course knowing why you need a blog and actually blogging are two different things.

Fortunately, with all the tools available now, it doesn’t have to be hard to set up a blog and post content to it. Blogging does not have to be hard work; many people actually enjoy posting to their blogs. The fact that it can make money becomes almost secondary. The following suggestions will give you a system to start your blogging career.

Of course, knowing all of this is quite different from putting it into practice. Most people find it easier to simply know about needing a blog, rather than think about actually starting one. The good news is that setting up a blog and keeping it running does not have to be as difficult as it looks. Here are some ideas to help you get started.

Your blog must have an RSS Feed. RSS simply means ‘Really Simple Syndication.’ Many blogs are already equipped with RSS Feeds. You have the option of using any feed you want so you can use the one supplied by your own blog or go out and find another one that suits more of your needs. Sometimes a third party system is better because it might have further reach across the net than your blog’s RSS; in this case you can use Feedburner who was recently bought by Google.

Offer an e-mail subscription option for your blog that allows your readers to get your blog posts e-mailed to them directly. The purpose of this is not to send out a newsletter but for a different purpose. This is a method by which the reader submits his e-mail address to your system and every time you post, a copy of that post gets e-mailed to that reader. The main incentive to setting up this process is that a large majority of people that are really interested in the topic will sign-up and read about any products that you might recommend in your content.

Put up an Opt-In form that your readers can use to give you their e-mail addresses. This opt-in list is for the purpose of emailing the subscribers valuable information that will help them solve a problem or make some extra money (if you are in a business niche); also, it could be used to pitch relevant products.

Some marketers prefer their blogs to have their own domain names. If you are new to the whole ‘blogging thing’ however, it is better to simply add a blog on to your existing site through a sub domain. You’ll be saving money on registering a new domain name and you’ll be able to associate your blog with your products.

However, if you wish to blog across more than one niche, it may become worthwhile to invest in a new domain name so each blog has its own identity.

There is an infinite amount of ways to sell products and services over the internet. Blogging is only a part of the puzzle when it comes to internet marketing; you can make a large amount of money from blogging if done right but you can make even more by incorporating some of the other methods. You can become an experienced blogger very fast. Just these few simple hints should help you make your blog better and more profitable!
