Facebook is one of the most popular social networking sites with a daily sign up rate of a few millions. According to quantacast.com, Facebook.com is a top 10 site that reaches over 95 million  people monthly for U.S. alone. Thanks very much for your comment Sarita. Like you said, you can get banned for being overly promotional on facebook.
As I mentioned in my lens at http://www.squidoo.com/how-to-use-facebook-to-grow-your-business ,don’t be pushy in your marketing effort on facebook.
Give a slight mention of your business in your profile without sounding too much of yourself or sounding over-promotional. You also don’t want to be seen as a link spammer.
Again, Comment on other people’s stuff too. Don’t be too busy post only your stuff. That’s just not cool.
Afterall, facebook is a social networking tool to start with. It’s easy to give a ‘thumbs up’ to someone’s news or comment on it right in their walls.
