Ive tried affiliate marketing. You can definitly make a lot of money but you have to make sure you have the resources to test and experiement with campaigns before you commit large resources. Its fun though and mostley about persistence.

However, there are lots of undertakings involved in creating a product than can be handled by a newbie.
So, it’s much better to start as an affiliate then venture out and create your products a bit later.

This article lists some good ways to make extra money, but I think using the word “easy” in the title is a bit misleading. While the survey thing may be easy (can’t swear to this since I’ve never tried it), any kind of affiliate marketing, blogging or freelancing takes a lot of time, hard work and persistance before any significant amount of money can be made.
No one can start a blog or sign up for an affiliate account and just expect the money to start rolling in. It doesn’t work that way. I think it’s best to be honest with people about the work involved in making money online.
Those who have the strength and determination to stick with it, can succeed and make some money. Those who don’t can avoid a lot of wasted time and effort.

I think one of the reasons why others fail with trying to earn money online is the fact that they thought it was easy. And then learning that it wasn’t, they get frustrated and give up. Anything legit requires some hard work. But I really have to agree with your opinion in regards to not trying a lot of ways, at least not all at the same time. Its really not the way to do it. Some people just don’t give enough time to study even the basics on a particular type. And therefore end up always looking for other ways even when they’ve already found legit sites or ways to work on.
